Developing good relationships with parents from the very beginning is extremely important to us. We are at the EYFS door at the beginning and end of each day for short queries and are always happy to see parents by appointment for more in-depth or more sensitive issues.
There are many opportunities during the school year for parents to come into school and share in the exciting experiences that your child will have during his/her time at school, including open sessions, parents’ evenings, concerts, special projects and various other school events. We receive lovely feedback from parents who say they enjoy and value events such as our Autumn Art Gallery where they are invited into school.
Items in newsletters, on our school website and Twitter inform parents of events and activities in school. This enables parents to take part in children’s learning discussing what the children have been learning at school and carrying out related activities
of interest at home. For further details of who you can help at home, please have a look in our EYFS Curriculum section.
Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are assessed continually throughout the year and their progress in each area of learning and “next steps” are shared with parents regularly.
Parents are regularly welcomed into school and their contribution to their child’s experiences is highly valued.
