Personal, Social and Emotional Development
We are very sensitive to the needs of each individual child and foster positive relationships and attitudes to learning from the beginning. Children are encouraged to be independent and confident in school and children are very much valued as individuals. We create “class charters” (positive “rules”) based on the children’s own ideas and we enjoy a range of activities to help to develop children’s personal and social skills and emotional well-being.
What parents can do to help at home:
-Expect and praise good behaviour
-Encourage self-awareness and work on showing respect for others
-Play games that involve turn taking, sharing, not always winning!
-Help your child to talk about his/her feelings in a positive way
-Praise success and help develop your child’s confidence
-Be positive and encourage motivation
-Encourage and praise independence
