This is an award winning website that uses clever techniques to teach spelling, grammar and much more.
You can access the app via a mobile or tablet to enable your child(ren) to practise at home.
Once you have downloaded it from an online store, please tap on the log icon (for ‘Log in’) at the top right, clicking on ”Sir Linkalot’s Code (schools only)”. Type ‘Helmshore’ in the username and then the password (this is available from the school office or your child’s teacher). You can also view it on a laptop or PC. Type in the browser itself (not a search engine)… app.sirlinkalot.org and follow the above instructions.

Puple Mash is a creative educational website for children. Used by thousands of schools, it is is a cross-curricular resource covering art to science and all subjects in between. Our pupils can access Purple Mash from home on a laptop, desktop or a tablet.

BBC Bitesize is one of the most highly respected educational resources online. The content is constantly kept up to date and relevant by the BBC Education team.
We highly recommend that parents and pupils visit this site to and use the age related video and interactive content.
As the children are spending all their time at home at the moment, we thought it would be the ideal opportunity to challenge them to develop their life skills. Children develop these at different rates but with a little practice, they can become much more independent and confident in these skills.

Epic is a truly amazing website of books for children of all ages. The books are levelled in the same way as the books in school. Your child will be able to find a book from their latest Accelerated Reader point.
Epic is free to use for the first month. Beyond the first month school can give you a free ongoing subscription. For your ongoing subscription simple email the school office (Subject: FAO Mrs Jackson) and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
iCompute and iLearn2 are teaching resources which we often use in school when teaching computing.
